Weighted average EU cost dataThis Section weights the variable and fixed costs for each Member State presented in Section 2.4.2 bythe relative size of the national egg sectors, as measured by laying hens. This exercise results in thevariable costs presented in Figure 2.30 and the fixed costs in Figure 2.31 below. The reader should also bear in mind that UK enriched cage data is drawn from‘enrichable’ cages operating at 630 cm 2 rather than 750 cm 2 .44
