Abu'l-Qasim al-Balkhi said in his book al-Maqdldt (the Narratives):<br />

Abu'l-Huthayl al-'Allaf was from Barah. He was the only person<br />

to claim that there will come a time when the dwellers of Paradise<br />

will seize to move. And he used to say: 'Allah's Knowledge is Allah<br />

Himself, and Allah's Ability is Allah Himself.' Abu Hashim also<br />

said: 'Whoever repents from all sins but has drunk a gulp of liquor<br />

will be punished forever just as non-believers will.' Al-Na9ham said:<br />

'Allah is unable to (create) evil, but Iblis is able to perform good and<br />

evil acts.'<br />

Hisham Al-Fup said that Allah could not be described as knowledgeable,<br />

or that He had always existed. Some Mu'tazilah said: 'It is<br />

conceivable for Allah (the Mighty and the Majestic) to lie, however,<br />

He never lies.'<br />

<strong>The</strong> Mujabbirah sect claimed that a human had no free will just like<br />

inanimate objects, deprived of choice and action.<br />

As for Mu1ji'ah, they said: 'Whoever uttered the Shahddatain (testimony<br />

that none in worthy of worship but Allah and that Mu}:iammad<br />

is Him Messenger) will never enter the Hellfire, even if he committed<br />

all sins.' <strong>The</strong>y went against many Prophetic traditions that<br />

advocate all muwwa!Jidiin (monotheists) would eventually exit the Hellfire.<br />

<strong>Ibn</strong> 'Aqil. said: 'Those who established irjii'were similar to atheists<br />

because the world can only become better <strong>by</strong> affirming punishment<br />

and reward.' Mu1Ji'ah were unable to deny the Creator (openly) because<br />

people would flee from them, so they resorted to the fruit of<br />

believing in the Creator, which is the fear of Allah and being watchful<br />

of Him. <strong>The</strong>y attempted to destroy the religion's oversight (of<br />

people's affairs) and there were the most evil of Islamic sects.<br />

<strong>The</strong>n came Abu 'Abdullah Mulammad <strong>Ibn</strong> Karram who adopted<br />
