Chapter Six· Devil's <strong>Deception</strong> of those from Our Ummah<br />

the worst of doctrines and least authentic of Prophetic narrations.<br />

He was inclined towards tashbip (claiming that Allah was similar to<br />

his creation), and he permitted for Allah (the Mighty and the Majestic)<br />

to perform accidental events. He also claimed that Allah would<br />

not be able to resurrect bodies. Instead, He would recreate them.<br />

As for al-Sdlimfyyah, they claimed that Allah would manifest Himself<br />

on the Day of Judgment in the same form as the entity looking<br />

at Him. For humans, He will appear human and for jinns, He will<br />

appear as jinn. And they claimed that Allah had a secret, if He were<br />

to divulge this secret then He would no longer be able to manage<br />

His Creation.<br />

I say: 'I seek refuge with Allah from contemplations and sciences<br />

that lead to these awful doctrines.' Practitioners of kaldm claimed<br />

that faith could never be complete except <strong>by</strong> understating their system<br />

of arguments. <strong>The</strong>y are indeed wrong, because <strong>The</strong> Messenger<br />

( ordered people to have faith, not to research kakim - and the<br />

Companions who were the best of people; followed (<strong>The</strong><br />

Messenger's order). In fact it was narrated that many of the alert<br />

practitioners of kaldm abandoned kaldm after realising its bad effects.<br />

Alµnad <strong>Ibn</strong> Sinan said: 'Al-Walid <strong>Ibn</strong> Aban al-KarabisI was my<br />

maternal uncle.' When he was dying he told his sons: 'Do you know<br />

anyone who is more knowledgeable in kakim than I?' <strong>The</strong>y replied:<br />

'No.' He said: 'Do you accuse me (of attempting to misguide you)?'<br />

<strong>The</strong>y said: 'No.' He said: 'I will give you a piece of advice, would you<br />

accept from me?' <strong>The</strong>y answered: 'Yes.' He said: 'Adhere to the way<br />

of Ahlu'l-padith (followers of the Prophetic Teachings), for I have<br />

seen the truth to be on their side.'<br />

Abu'l-Ma'ili (<strong>Ibn</strong> Al-Juwayru) used to say: 'I have abandoned the<br />
