We also tell those who believe in tashbih: What proof did you use<br />

to prove that bodies were accidental? (Once you arrive to the answer<br />

to this question) You will realise that you have been believing<br />

in an accidental Lord, not pre-eternal.<br />

<strong>The</strong>y also claimed that Allah may be touched. We say: based on<br />

this claim, then He may also be hugged.<br />

Others said that Allah was a body in a space that included all other<br />

bodies.<br />

Bayan <strong>Ibn</strong> Sam'an used to claim that his Lord was a man made<br />

from light, and that he was in the form of a man, and that all of his<br />

limbs would eventually be destroyed except his face. Because of<br />

this, Khalid <strong>Ibn</strong> 'Abdullah killed him.<br />

Al-Mughirah <strong>Ibn</strong> Sa'Id claimed that his Lord was a man made from<br />

light wearing a crown made from light, and that he had limbs and<br />

heart from which wisdom flowed, and that these limbs were is the<br />

shape of alphabetical letters.<br />

Zurarah <strong>Ibn</strong> A 'yan claimed that Allah did not always have Attributes<br />

of knowledge, ability and life until he created these attributes for<br />

Himself.<br />

Dawiid al-Jawaribi said that Allah was a body made from flesh and<br />

blood, and that he had limbs. He believed that He was hollow from<br />

his mouth to chest, and solid everywhere else.<br />

Among them were people who claimed that Allah was over the<br />

Throne physically, touching it. And that if He got off the Throne<br />

then he would have to move and relocate. <strong>The</strong>y assumed a limit to<br />

Him and quantified Him as well. <strong>The</strong>y cited the Prophetic tradition:<br />
