Doesn't a horse eat multiple types of foods, and so does a camel?!<br />

Isn't the body the soul's camel?!<br />

Some early scholars forbade the combination of two relishes regularly<br />

in order that not become a habit and involve trouble. Excessive<br />

eating should be avoided in order not to cause laziness and induce<br />

sleep. And once a person becomes used to eating too much, it becomes<br />

difficult for him not to. So he spends much time and effort<br />

in consuming food.<br />

This was how the Salaf used to avoid unnecessary pleasures.<br />

As for the l).adith: "Deprive yourselves from good food"; it was a<br />

fabricated hadith <strong>by</strong> BazI the narrator.<br />

If a person only eats barley bread then his attitude will change,<br />

because it is too dry and (too much of it) harms the brain and eyes.<br />

Not eating enough food causes the stomach to dry up and shrink.<br />

What is disliked is overeating.<br />

<strong>The</strong> best of etiquettes are those of the Messenger ). He )<br />

said: "A human being never fills a container that is worse than his<br />

stomach. Hence, it will be sufficient for the son of Adam to satisfy<br />

his hunger with a few bites to strengthen his backbone. If he must<br />

eat to his fill, then he should allow for one third food, one third<br />

water, and third air."187<br />

Islam orders us to eat enough to sustain our bodies in order to<br />

preserve them. Had the hypocrites heard of this division: "One<br />
