Chapter Eleven: The Devil's Deception of the $iifts
Dancing is the worst forms of insolence and arrogance.
Haven't we drawn a comparison between wine and alcohol because
of the commonality between them? So why would we not
draw a comparison between all things that cause excitement?
Nothing goes against modesty, good manners and sound intellect
than a bearded man dancing. What about older men dancing and
clapping to sounds of music and voices of women and beardless
men?!
Is it suitable for a man who is near death, accountability, resurrection
and the path with one of the two abodes for his destination, to
Ibn Zaidan, 'Abdu'l-Malik Ibn Bisharan, Abu Tahir Ibn Al- ' Allaf,
al-Junayd and al-Dinawari.
person being grabbed to remain seated. Then the rest of the audience
members get up and dance. And when one of them takes off
his head-cover, then the rest must do the same.
Every wise person knows that uncovering one's head is something
awful. It goes against modesty and good manners. It has its
place only in religious practices (such as al-fla.iJ) as a form of worship
