Devil's <strong>Deception</strong> of them regarding Adhtin<br />

(Call for Prayer)<br />

An example is to add a (musical) rhythm to adhtin. Malik disliked<br />

this very much, and so did other scholars because it strips Adhan<br />

from the required reverence and makes it almost like singing.<br />

Another example is that they mix Ft!Jr a.dhtin with other forms of<br />

dhikr. Scholars disliked adding anything to the adhtin.<br />

We have seen some people climbing on the minaret to remind<br />

people. Others recite a surah from the Qur'an loudly on the minaret.<br />

<strong>The</strong>y prevent people from sleeping and confuse those praying at<br />

night. All.of which are from bad deeds.<br />

Performing Prayer (al-$altih)<br />

Some of them wash clean clothes repeatedly (to make sure that<br />

they are pure). Sometimes, they wash clothes even if they were<br />

touched <strong>by</strong> others. And some of them wash their clothes in the<br />

Euphrates (i.e. in the river) believing that washing them at home<br />

does not suffice. Others put them in wells like Jews do.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Companions never used to do this. In fact they prayed while<br />

wearing the Persian clothes they acquired after liberating Persia, including<br />

blankets and rugs.<br />

Some of those suffering from compulsive disorders wash an en-<br />
