Methods : The study group consisted <strong>of</strong> 64 females in total. The study group consisted <strong>of</strong> 16 females ages 40-50 and 16 females ages<br />

18-25 . The control group consisted <strong>of</strong> 16 females ages 40-50 and 16 females ages 18-25. The study group attended a “pilates mat work”<br />

program for ten weeks, three times a week, one hour per class, while the control group did not participate in any exercise program. The<br />

subjects’ resting metabolic rate was measure before and after the 10-week exercise program. The methods used were bodygem indirect<br />

method, body composition measured by bio electric impendence method, skin fat thickness measured by skinfold method, circumferences<br />

measured by measuring tape, and flexibility measured by sit and reach method. All obtained parameters were analyzed in SPSS<br />

for Windows. Results: The conclusion <strong>of</strong> the study shows that in the group <strong>of</strong> females, ages 40-50, waist to hip ratio, circumferences, and<br />

skin fat thicknesses decreased. Resting metabolic rate increased (p0,05). In the group <strong>of</strong> females ages 18-25 there was no significant change in body composition<br />

and resting metabolic rate, but flexibility increased(p
