2 Association. It's been insinuated, even accused, that
3 CPA is here to stop the building of the Miramar and to
4 do whatever we can to halt the process so it will kill
5 the project.
6 That I am stating for the record is
7 absolutely incorrect. We join everybody who wants to
8 see the right project built on this property. To get
9 that, you need to have the proper review.
10 I was asked before the hearing today by many
11 people, "What's the bottom line? What's CPA asking of
12 the Commissioners at the hearing?" So let me make it
13 clear. First, even with the Applicant's new recent
14 adjustment to the proposed project, we are still asking
15 for you to not approve the project as proposed and to
16 require new and full EIR for the project.
17 Second, we want compliance with the Montecito
18 Community Plan, the Coastal Zoning Ordinance, and CEQA.
19 What are we asking more specifically? Well,
20 Ross Campbell our attorney at CLG outlined a lot of that
21 for you, but I'd just like to make a few more points.
22 The County needs to follow the community plan
23 for cottage-style architecture and floor area ratio.
24 The County needs to follow the regulations and not throw
25 them out the window by granting all of these requested
