2 water into Santa Barbara County.
3 First of all, I agree with you, Commissioner,
4 that we should recycle that roof water. A lot of it is
5 put into those drain because of the erosion concern, and
6 I've been thinking of that for years.
7 But actually we raised privately hundreds of
8 thousands of dollars to do studies on the water with all
9 the municipalities throughout the county, and in that --
10 I don't know specifically what the Miramar -- but the
11 Miramar water use is grandfathered into that deal. In
12 fact, you know -- again, I don't remember the numbers
13 but -- and the sewage too.
14 So if anything, there hasn't been any use of
15 the Miramar. And we may owe him ten years of water.
16 You can bill him for it. But you know, you may owe him
17 that water in a sense. I support the project, but I
18 just want the record clear the water has been allocated
19 over the years through the state water initiative that
20 we brought in.
21 And I think staff -- that water -- the
22 Montecito water guy's here. He should be able to
23 testify to that that there is water for the project and
24 I'm sure we'll use water-saving devices and so on like
25 that to help mitigate some of that stuff.
