3 And he felt that Caruso was clear about that, felt good
4 about that, and was absolutely in accord with that.
5 After having met with Mr. Caruso and walking
6 the property, he, Bob, went to the association and
7 endorsed the project and invited Mr. Caruso into
8 people's homes to meet him where he gave slideshows and
9 photographs of a similar Caribbean-style resort that was
10 bungalow sized and seemed perfectly in accordance with
11 the Montecito Community Plan.
12 But at that point that's when communications
13 stopped and at that point is when the project began to
14 grow per Bob's experience. And that -- what it seems is
15 that the community plan's guidelines can be varied, but
16 just don't set precedence is what he emphasized to the
17 Caruso group, and that, again, seemed total in accord
18 and totally understood by their group. He feels that
19 it's both egregiously out of compliance and inadequate
20 with the Montecito Community Plan.
21 He says that the Schrager plan and the Caruso
22 plan bear little resemblance to one another, but as you
23 know, it's impossible to get 100 percent of Montecito to
24 agree on a project. The point is it needs to be the
25 right project, and judging from what he's seen of these
