1 process I think this community owes this to Mr. Caruso.
2 I think Mr. Caruso has not been served by this
3 community. I think he's been led in directions by both
4 staff and by the community at large, the
5 Montecito Association, that have been inappropriate
6 and -- inappropriate, completely inappropriate.
7 And what we now have is, as a result, a
8 project that I don't think -- at least there are two
9 members, and I actually believe there are more members
10 sitting up here, although we haven't said, who cannot
11 find consistency with the LUC Policy M.1.6, which says
12 "Improvements to visitor-resort-serving hotels shall be
13 designed to be consistent with existing historic
14 cottage-type hotel traditions of the early days."
15 It's very clear to me what that says. Now, I
16 think that's been manipulated to be interpreted as
17 being, "Okay. Six keys here in some rooms." We've got
18 Building 44 that maybe complies and maybe doesn't.
19 And you know, I think that it really is time,
20 as Chairman Bierig is saying, to let Mr. Caruso and his
21 team know what it is that we're going to be able to live
22 with. You know, I mean I'm totally prepared to say
23 that. I've been prepared to say that for a long time.
24 I've kept my mouth shut, but that's where I'm at.
25 And the first place I'm going to go with that
