3 of marred in this is some ongoing project that's sitting
4 in limbo. We can clean the slate.
5 So after tens of millions of dollars, that
6 would be my request at this point because we've
7 redesigned the project twice now. It cost a few million
8 to do that. And we may opt to do that. I love the
9 neighborhood; I love the project. I was certainly
10 enamored with the idea of building a resort here. But
11 if it's not in the cards, it's not in the cards. So
12 that would be my request, and I seriously would
13 appreciate it if you would do that so we can move on
14 with our lives.
15 MR. BIERIG: Thank you, Mr. Caruso. I want
16 to make a few comments if I can. I feel badly for your
17 position here tonight. I think you've been poorly
18 served by some of the bodies you've been dealing with
19 who I do not think have acted in the best interest of
20 the Montecito community.
21 And I think subsequently that ended up in
22 them not dealing in your best interest because it got to
23 this body, and you've found a conclusion that they could
24 accept things that we simply will not accept, and I
25 think it's unfortunate that you were lead down that
