5. Conclusions and fur<strong>the</strong>r research 5.1 Conclusions Nellija Titova Summarizing <strong>the</strong> above, <strong>the</strong> main logic for using VAIC and CIV as tools for performance measurement is as follows: The results proved that <strong>the</strong>re are very good reasons to pay higher attention to intellectual potential; There are several facts about IC that could be expected to be proven worldwide; VAIC has proved its suitability as a tool for <strong>the</strong> measurement <strong>of</strong> IC. But: There is no common system <strong>of</strong> analyzing <strong>the</strong> results obtained from VAIC calculation, There are still blank spots to explore and discuss and <strong>the</strong>y are partly identified; The results on applying CIV are very poor and do not prove CIV as a valuable and objective instrument to use. 5.2 Fur<strong>the</strong>r research Providing various insights that should be <strong>of</strong> interest <strong>of</strong> scholars, shareholders, policy makers and o<strong>the</strong>r relevant parties, <strong>the</strong> finding from <strong>the</strong> present study indicate avenues for <strong>the</strong> future investigations: Future research can be undertaken to investigate associations studied in <strong>the</strong> present paper across time; Additional research should be conducted using <strong>the</strong> data from alternative groups <strong>of</strong> enterprises, for example, firms from non-IC business sector; More evidence is needed on <strong>the</strong> determinants <strong>of</strong> IC performance before any generalization <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> results can be made; It is clear that <strong>the</strong>re are plenty <strong>of</strong> econometric techniques to be applied such as controlling variables, fixed and random effects estimators, etc, and There is a clear need for <strong>the</strong> most systemic approach to fur<strong>the</strong>r analysis <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> results <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> VAIC calculations.
