Johan Muyle (Belgia/Belgium) Curated by Tomasz Wendland _ 122/ Urodzony w 1956, Charleroi, Belgia. Mieszka i pracuje w Liège i Brukseli, Belgia. Wystawy w prywatnych galeriach i publicznych centrach sztuki w Belgii, Francji, Wielkiej Brytanii i Włoszech. Uczestnictwo w targach i międzynarodowych biennale sztuki nowoczesnej (Sao Paulo 1998, Mediolan 2001) sprawiło, iż Johan Muyle zyskał międzynarodową renomę jako artysta reprezentujący francuskojęzyczną społeczność Belgii. Johan Muyle uczy sztuki nowoczesnej w szkole sztuk pięknych La Cambre w Brukseli. W latach 1985-1994 artysta tworzył przede wszystkim animowane rzeźbiarskie asamblaże, pokazywane w wielu galeriach i podczas międzynarodowych targów w Niemczech, Belgi, Hiszpanii, Włoszech, Holandii i Portugali. Później w latach 1995-2004 Muyle porzucił pracę dla prywatnych galerii i stworzył własną pracownię (w której zatrudnił zespół asystentów), wykonując monumentalne zamówienia publiczne. _ Born in 1956, Charleroi, Belgium. Lives and works in Liege and Brussels, Belgia. His exhibitions in private galléries and public centres of art located in Belgium, France, the United Kingdom and Italy, the presence of his works in Belgian, Italian, French, Scandinavian and North American public collections and his participation in fairs and international biennial shows of contemporary art (Sao Paulo in 1998 and Milan in 2001) have allowed Muyle to become an artist with international renown, representing the plastic arts of the French speaking Community of Belgium. Johan Muyle teaches contemporary art practices at the La Cambre in Brussels (Fine arts school). From 1985 in 1994, Johan Muyle primarily produced animated sculpture assemblages that were presented in galleries and international fairs in Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, The Netherlands and Portugal. Between 1995 and 2004, he le the realm of private galleries to work in a new studio (with a team of assistants) on public orders of a monumental nature. He primarily makes installations consisting of monumental animated paintings produced with the collaboration of poster painting artists from Madras in India. These installations have been presented in Belgium, Brazil, Cuba, France, Italy and the United Kingdom. Starting at the end of the year 2004, Johan Muyle has reactivated individual work and the production of motorised sculptures consisting of objects assembled together (objects collected during his travels, at flea markets or ordered via the Internet). These latest works take a remarkable critical look, poetically distanced, atthe human condition, the radicalisation of religions, the disappearance of collective utopias and the news. Starting in 1991, he has recorded the preparatory drawings in A5 format in the specifications for the development of these objects and installations. De Croes, Sao Paulo, BR (solo) Odzwierciedlając świat (fragmenty) / Reflecting the world (extracts) Od samego początku rzeźbiarskie asamblaże Johana Muyle tworzone od lat 80. Since his first sculptural assemblages dating from the beginning of the 1980s, Johan Muyle has committed himself to a form of syncretism that allows him to freely combine numerous components and to cross diverse sources and cultural practices. In taking this artistic path, he positions himself as a citizen of a world from which he extracts the most diverse borrowings and at which he never stops aiming an analytical and critical gaze. This position as a modeler and free arranger of the most disparate realities enables him to approach all questions, all situations, proposing not solutions, which would assuredly be pretentious, but rather provocative visions. > Lucy, I Have a Dream, 2008 media różne / mixed media, 205 x 60 x 85 FOT.
