it refers to a famous painting by Delacroix entitled Liberty Leading
the People. In the artist’s work it is not a proletariat or a working
class that fights but elegantly and expensively dressed ruling class.
Whereas, in Delacroix’s painting a viewer adopts a point o view
of those against whom this rebellion is raised, in the case of Loginov’s
work a viewer find him/herself in the middle of a battle.
Those images of anarchy and rebellion are not allegories of struggle
for freedom against oppression but the allegory of a fight among
everybody for spending power in the era of capitalism.
Maksim Tyminko exhibits his latest video installation entitled
Five Lyrical Songs about Physics. The work shows a choir consists
of 50 Belarusian artists – painters, graphic artists, sculptors
and two curators singing about fundamental physical
and mathematical theories such as the set and string theory.
All songs were composed specially for this project.
Except for a value resulting from the exploration of the merging
of different fields of art, science and technology the most important
aim of this project is: to take an appropriate step to integrate
the Belarusian artistic community into the European artistic process.
Employing the metaphysical potential of a choir we would like
to present to a Western European viewer some esthetic attitudes
existing today in a Belarusian art. It is worth emphasizing that
Belarusian artists integrated with the European culture support the
slow process of soening walls around Belorussia.
w epoce kapitalizmu.
Maksim Tyminko zaprezentuje najnowszą pracę – instalację wideo
Five Lyrical Songs about Physics. Praca przedstawia chór złożony
z 50 białoruskich artystów: malarzy, grafików, rzeźbiarzy oraz 2 kuratorek,
śpiewający o fundamentalnych teoriach w fizyce i matematyce,
proces artystyczny. Wykorzystując metaforyczny potencjał tematu chóru,
chcielibyśmy przedstawić zachodnioeuropejskiemu widzowi estetyczne
pozycje i podejścia, które istnieją obecnie w białoruskiej sztuce.
Białoruscy artyści zintegrowani bardziej z europejską kulturą niż
z białoruską, wspomagają powolne rozmiękczanie muru wokół Białorusi.
