Pokaż mi swój umysł, abym wiedział, jak ochronić siebie przed twoimi dążeniami,
abym tobą manipulował, grał na twoim poczuciu winy, poczuciu sprawiedliwości,
twoich ludzkich uczuciach, powiedz mi wszystko, czego potrzebuję, aby uruchomić
ciebie dla moich potrzeb. Wszystkie media wprzęgnięte są w działanie
na rzecz wojny, sztuka także. W pracy zatytułowanej ARENA uwalniamy
się od konieczności tłumaczenia propagandy na język sztuki. Tak jak sztuka
może być propagandą, tak propaganda może być sztuką. Dlatego też czerpiemy
bezpośrednio z kanałów informacyjnych, głównie internetu. Dziś każdy
może stworzyć film lub wypowiedzieć się w innym medium; hegemonia specjalistów
już nie istnieje. YouTube, Facebook i wszystkie inne cyfrowe miejsca spotkań dają
możliwość własnej twórczej ekspresji i reakcji. Są one nowymi polami bitew
w wojnie o uwagę, zrozumienie i współczucie, w procesie lobbowania na czyjąś
rzecz. I choć dzieje się to wszystko w sferze prywatnej – pełno tu kłamstw
i manipulacji. Jednym z takich pół bitewnych jest spór o islam w Europie.
Islam przeraża wielu chrześcijan, żydów i ateistów. Przywódcy muzułmańscy
nawołują do wprowadzenia w Europie praw Szarijatu, czym podsycają lęki.
Umiarkowani muzułmanie próbują relatywizować problem i oskarżają przeciwników
powiększającej się społeczności islamskiej w Europie o islamofobię oraz rasizm.
To jest jeden z gorętszych dziś tematów; w tej pracy pokazujemy wypowiedzi
w taki sposób, w jaki pojawiły się w internecie.
Tell me your mind, so that I will know how to protect myself from your
aims, manipulate you, play on your guilt feelings, on your sense of justice,
your humanity, tell you all I need to activate you for my needs.
All media has been used for the purposes of war, and art is being
used more and more. In this work, entitled “ARENA”, we dispense with
the need to translate propaganda into the language of art. Just as art
may be propaganda, propaganda may be art. So we take it pure, straight
from the veins of information, mainly from the internet. It is now possible
for anyone to produce film or any media; the hegemony of the experts
is gone. You Tube, Facebook, and all the other digital meeting places give
everyone the capability for self-expression and reaction. They are the new
battlefield in the war for attention, understanding and sympathy in the
lobbying process. And although it is on the private level, it is as full of lies
and manipulation as ever. One such battlefield is the controversy about
Islam in Europe. Islam frightens many Christians, Jews and atheists.
Muslim leaders’ call for Sharia law in Europe feeds that fear.
Moderate Muslims try to relativize it and accuse those who are against
a growing Muslim population in Europe of Islamophobia and racism.
t is one of tthe hottest issues on the net now; in this work we show
the speeches as they appear on the internet.
