The film is produced by Fabel Kommunikation AB in collaboration with Atelier Cultural
projects and Compania Rodisio. The organization of Fabel works with participatory
processes, visualisation and processes of change in both private and public organizations
as well as for education. Fabel oen departs from philosophy and contemporary art
to introduce new perspectives on complex matters. We create and restructure traditional
and avant-garde methods in close collaboration with our clients with the aim of high user
involvement and impact. In the network of Fabel are exhibition producers, production
designers, product designers, programmers, video makers, psychologists, anthropologists,
journalists and several crasmen to help realise our common visions.
The film is directed and animated by our co-worker Tony Hultquist. Tony is AD at Fabel
and works with photo, film and animation. He has among other exhibit at Vårutställningen
at Liljevalcs konsthall Stockholm 2009 (group) and at the traveling exhibition
Жінка Woman 3000 in Ukraina 2010 (group).
The narratives compete for our attention. Consciously or unconsciously they travel
like spores between the minds of the enlightened citizen. The neighbourhood of Italy,
Malta and Sweden merge into one. Intangibly the never-ending story affects their
surroundings but transformation is impossible. We end in an open question regarding
the ownership of who is in power to introduce a new master narrative?
The project of “North to South: Space for memories” is a collaboration between Fabel
Kommunikation from Stockholm, a curator group from Malta, a theatre group from
Parma, Italy and a group of international anthropologists. European Cultural Foundation
has funded the project. The film is the final result of a one-year process of collecting
micro narratives through text messages and interviews.
