Szeroko pojęty problem wymazywania murów przedstawiam więc,
prezentując dziewięciu artystów, w dziewięciu odrębnych narracjach.

Najbardziej oczywiste narracje w moim wyborze (z punktu widzenia
dosłowności tematu i kontekstu wystawy) realizuje Michael Kurzwelly.
Jego działania, które sam nazywa „rzeźbami społecznym”, koncentrują
się na tworzeniu przestrzeni otwartej na komunikację publiczną między
obywatelami dwóch podzielonych granicą miast: Frankfurtu nad Odrą
i Słubic. Jego projekt Słubfurt City, realizowany z dużą determinacja
od 2004 roku, przybiera coraz to nowe formy mające na celu prawdziwą
integrację społeczną. Artysta tworzy w Słubfurcie struktury na wzór
struktur państwowych (jak np. parlament), wciela się w rolę przewodnika,
inicjuje działania innych artystów i nieartystów.
Maciej Kurak także tworzy projekty funkcjonujące na styku z przestrzenią
publiczną. Realizuje działania, w które na różne sposoby wciąga
publiczność. Jego sztuka oscyluje na połączeniu przestrzeni fizycznej
i wyobrażeniowej. Dodatkowo nasycona jest intelektualnym dowcipem
i płynącą z niego charakterystyczną, choć nierzadko gorzką, refleksją.
Innego typu refleksjami dzieli się z nami Andrzej Pepłoński. Tworzy
on subtelne światy inspirowane kulturą Wschodu, w które porywa
nas za pomocą analizy wielu drobnych elementów składowych,
które ostatecznie, po zsumowaniu, zaprowadzają nas do tajemniczych
obszarów własnej podświadomości.
in what one might call the truth of empirical cognition, as it is founded
on a genuine experience. Thus, I present the issue of erasing walls, broadly
comprehended, by showing nine artists, in nine separate narrations.

The most obvious narrations in my selection (in view of the literal approach
to the theme and the exhibition’s context) are effected by Michael
Kurzwelly. His actions, which he himself terms “social sculptures”, focus
on creating a space which is open to public communication between
the inhabitants of two cities divided by a border: Frankfurt on the Odra
river and Słubice. His project, the Słubfurt City, carried out with great
determination since 2004, keeps taking on new forms which attempt a true
social integration. In Słubfurt, the artist creates structures modelled aer
state-level solutions (e.g. parliament), assumes the role of a guide, initiates
actions of other artists and non-artists.
Maciej Kurak also creates projects which operate on the junction with
public space. The action he carries out use different means to involve
members of the public. His art oscillates on the verge of physical
and imaginary domains. Additionaly, it is infused with intellectual wit
and the singular, albeit oen bitter reflection that it engenders.
Andrzej Pepłoński has different reflection to share. The subtle worlds
he creates, inspired by the culture of the East, into which we are abducted
through the analysis of many diminutive constituents, which ultimately,
having been summed up, lead us into the mysterious realms of our own
subconsciousness.
