Yossi Atia i Itamar Rose współpracują ze sobą od 2005 roku.
Nakręcili cztery satyryczne krótkie filmy o wycowaniu się ze Stre
Gazy. Pomiędzy 2006 a 2008 rokiem stworzyli serię ponad
20 filmów krótkometrażowych, m.in. The Shirutrom (Shirutrom),
the jewish-arab state (kraj żydowsko-arabski) oraz Missiles
in Ramat Gan (Pociski w Ramat Gan). Filmy obu twórców
pokazywano w znanych międzynarodowych galeriach
i muzeach oraz podczas uznanych wydarzeń artystycznych
i festiwali, m.in. w Centrum Pompidou oraz Tate Gallery.

Yossi Atia and Itamar Rose begin working together in 2005, filming four satirestrips
about the Disengagement from the Gaza Strip. Between 2006 and 2008,
they made a series of more than 20 short films, among them “The Shirutrom”,
„the jewish-arab state” and „Missiles in Ramat Gan”. Their films were screened
around the world in galleries, museums, art events and festivals. Amongst
them, the Pompidou Center and Tate Gallery.
Yossi Atia i Itamar Rose ukończyli swój projekt filmowy.
Artyści we własnych krótkich filmach, odgrywali fikcyjne
postaci wraz z ludźmi, których spotkali na ulicy, w centrum
handlowym czy parku, zawsze pokazując palące problemy
tego niewielkiego kraju. Atia i Rose są dumni przede wszystkim
z łamania tabu i próby wskazania ludziom nowego spojrzenia
na ich rzeczywistość, możliwego do zauważenia z innej
perspektywy. Nie ma dla nich tematów tabu, dlatego mówili
o samobójczych atakach bombowych, okupacji, wojnie w Libanie,
żałobie i gwałtach oraz o wielu innych podobnych tematach.
W jednym przezabawnym, choć równocześnie niepokojącym
skeczu, Atia i Rose, ubrani jak Arabowie, podchodzą
do rodziny odbywającej piknik w parku narodowym podczas
Dnia Niepodległości i proszą jej członków o chwilę ciszy
w związku z upamiętnieniem wioski arabskiej, która istniała
właśnie w tym miejscu, ale została ziszczona w 1967 roku.
Yossi Atia and Itamar Rose are behind this cinematic project.
Their short movies, which feature them in a variety of fictional
characters alongside ‘real’ Israelis they meet or approach
on the street, the mall or the park, target every burning issue
this little country of ours has to offer. Atia and Rose seem especially
fond of breaking taboos, in an attempt to make people take a fresh
look at their reality and observe it from a different perspective.
For them, no cow is sacred, and suicide bombings, the occupation,
the war in Lebanon, bereavement, homosexuality and rape are just
a few of the subjects with which they have dealt in their recent
movies. In one hilarious, and at the same time very disturbing,
sketch, Atia and Rose, dressed as Arabs, approach picnicking
families at a national park on Independence Day and ask them
to stand with them for a moment of silence in memory
of the Arab villages which used to be where the park is now,
before their residents were expelled in 1967.
