Z elektryczną latarką w dłoni wejdziesz do ciemnej, monochromatycznej przestrzeni pokrytej
pomarańczową farbą RAL 2010, mieszczącej się w kontenerze przewozowym o wymiarach:
11 m x 2,65 m x 3 m.
we wnętrzu klaustrofobiczną celę przypominającą zamknięty korytarz. Stan Douglas umieścił
historię swojej instalacji filmowej zatytułowanej Journey Into Fear (Podróż ku strachowi),
i krajem w każdym czasie. 80 milionów symboli globalizacji i migracji wędruje po świecie.
W 1965 roku Ambler stworzył swój „nowy, godzinny, trzymający w napięciu, przygodoworomantyczny
serial telewizyjny) nazwany Journey Into Fear (Podróż ku strachowi),
With an electric torch You are going to enter a dark but monochromatic orange RAL2010
painted space – the proportions of a shipping container: 11m x 2,65m x 3m. The chamber
is filled with low-frequency resonances and physical transitory walls out of standing pressure
waves. Through the surrounding container walls You can hear sounds of transshipment
– a mono-remix of a soundscape-composition based on recordings I did at the biggest
German container terminal in Bremerhaven for an installation for the German Ministry
of Transport built out more than 100 containers at the EXPO 2000 before the crisis of this
global circulation system. Always a shipping container is a very special filter and resonator
for sound and its proportion from the inside creates a claustrophobic perception-cell like
a closed corridor. Stan Douglas located the story of his Filminstallation Journey Into Fear
which refers the 2 film adaptations of Eric Amblers book from 1940 on a container ship.
Inside a shipping container You can find Yourself in between every places and countries
in any time. 80-million of this symbols for globalization and migration are on tour in the world.
In 1965 Ambler created his new, one hour action-suspense- adventure-romance television
series called Journey Into Fear which ended in a largely forgotten TV pilot one year later.
