Będę opętany. Złachmaniona biała flaga przymocowana do drewnianego
słupa nieustannie trzepocze na wietrze pochodzącym z zdekonstruowanego
wentylatora. Widok ma w sobie jakieś drobne łagodne piękno, ale w najlepszym
razie jest rozczarowujący. Światło z projektora padające na podstawę flagi tworzy
trzepoczący cień na ścianie, przywołujący symbol przynależności narodowej,
spełnienia i dumy.
Podczas intymnego performansu artysta kąpie się w przypominającej błoto
substancji, wzbudzając dyskusję o dominacji pomiędzy nim a ziemią, oscylującą
wokół jej posiadania czy też bycia owładniętym ideą jej posiadania.
I shall be possessed. A ragged white flag affixed to a wooden pole flutters constantly
in the wind generated from a deconstructed ventilator. The sight itself has a minor
gentle beauty but at best is underwhelming.Light from a projector near the flag’s
base creates a fluttering shadow on the wall, stirring familiar symbol of national
identity, accomplishment and pride.
During an intimate performative act, the artist bathes in a mud like product,
arousing a discussion of domination between him and land – possessing land
or being possessed by the idea to possess it.
