Recent awards include a grant from the Senate of Berlin/Cultures affairs for a one year fellowship in Los Angeles, artist in residence/Chinati Foundation/ Marfa, working grant and publishing grant from Kunstfonds Bonn for their new book “Hold it!” Crushed Cayenne (Zniszczone Cayenne) jest modelem dwóch samochodów sportowoużytkowych SUV (ang. Sport Utility Vehicle, luksusowy samochód osobowy i terenowy) w trakcie zderzenia czołowego, zbudowanym w skali 1.2:1. Widzowie mogą usiąść w środku drewnianych wraków. Rzeźba stanowi ironiczny komentarz do charakteru tych samochodów, uwodzących pozorną niezłomnością i hedonistycznym urokiem. Dwuznaczna kruchość i otwartość rzeźby przedstawia ich destrukcję kontrastującą z wyglądem samochodów przypominających czołg. Samochody sportowo-użytkowe ze swoimi wojskowymi korzeniami mają właściwy sobie złowieszczy urok. Wrodzony bezceremonialny brak umiaru Porshe Cayenne ujawnia się naprawdę wtedy, gdy zostaje on zniszczony w groźnym wypadku. Crushed Cayenne is a 1.2:1 scale mockup of two proprietary SUVs on a full frontal collision course. The public was invited to take seats inside the wooden wrecks wrenched into each other. The sculpture provides an ironic commentary on the seemingly indomitable and hedonistic allure of these cars. The ambiguous frailty and accessibility of the sculpture representing their destruction were in stark contrast to the familiar tank-like look of these cars—intact—in real life. SUVs with their military origin have an inherent menacing allure. The intrinsic vulgar excess of a Porsche Cayenne really comes into its own when it is destroyed in a heavy crash.
