Without power to lease all capital and operating costs would have to be met by the City. The
capital cost would be dependent upon the use the building would be put to and is likely to be
in the $1 million to $2 million range. Operating costs would also be dependent upon the use
and spread of operating hours required. In order to add to the vibrancy of the area the
operating hours would have to be lengthy and include weekends and would therefore
become a significant cost to the City. Without knowing the use and its requirements it is not
possible to provide an accurate estimated cost of this proposal.

Position the City as a flagship of sustainable urban local government,
encouraging innovative, creative and inspirational built form and

It is unlikely that refurbishment of the Maureen Grierson Centre would encourage innovative,
creative and inspirational built form and infrastructure.
