The review of the City’s policy framework will better
communicate the City’s strategic direction on important
issues as well as the current decision making processes and
philosophies.

Conclusion
The City’s Policies are being reviewed on the basis that as a general rule or set principles,
they were adopted to provide the City’s position in respect to a matter. This provides clear
direction to employees on matters that require the application of discretion or provides
direction to align with community values and aspirations. Further, policies set a guiding
direction for the operation of the City’s functions and establish a fair and cohesive approach
to solving issues.
A number of Health and Compliance Services Policies have been reviewed and based on
the justification provided within this report the following policies are recommended for
revocation:-
D101101 - Dwellings Unfit for Human Habitation - Orders;
D101102 - Notices – Service for Offences Under the Health Act 1911;
D101104 - Itinerant Vendors Licences;
D101201 - Health Licences - Annual Registration Fees;
D101301 - Building Requiring Repairs and Maintenance - Orders;
D101401 - Keeping of Pigeons;
D101501 - Delegation of Authority - Use of Loudspeakers;
G101002 - Caravan Sites - Temporary;
J105102 - Road Reserves – Material On;
N401117 - Prosecutions - Development Contrary to the Building Code of Australia;
D101202 - School Canteens; and
D201001 - Child Health Centres - Community Use.
