In addition to reproductive health problems, sexual abuse can cause fear, depression, and suicide. Sexual abuse survivors are more likely to participate in high-risk activities such as substance abuse, early sexual debut, having sex more often, and not practicing safe sex, making them more vulnerable to unintended pregnancy and STIs.
