• List the suggestions on a flip chart.<br />
• Explain that part of screening<br />
includes taking a medical history.<br />

Sexual activity: Are they at risk <strong>for</strong><br />

• Give each group markers and a piece<br />
of flipchart.<br />
• Ask one group to determine what<br />
in<strong>for</strong>mation should be gathered<br />
during history taking <strong>for</strong> males and<br />
the other group to determine what<br />
should be included <strong>for</strong> females.<br />
• Ask both groups to explain why each<br />
question should be asked.<br />

• In addition to administering tests or<br />
conducting physical exams, historytaking<br />
can also be used as a tool <strong>for</strong><br />
screening <strong>for</strong> substance abuse,<br />
sexual abuse, and emotional<br />
problems.<br />
• Allow 20 minutes <strong>for</strong> the groups to<br />
complete their work.<br />
• Reconvene the large group.<br />
• Ask each group to present their work<br />
to the whole group.<br />
• Add any missing in<strong>for</strong>mation.<br />
