Risk to vulnerable road users by <strong>London</strong> borough<br />

The road environment varies substantially across <strong>London</strong>, as does the mix of road<br />

user types. To understand whether these geographical variations have an impact on<br />

risk, it is <strong>in</strong>formative to calculate risk at a borough level. Figure 6.2 shows the KSI<br />

casualty risk by borough among vulnerable road user groups <strong>in</strong> <strong>London</strong>. Note that<br />

these risk figures have a level of uncerta<strong>in</strong>ty (see figure 6.3) so that <strong>in</strong> some cases<br />

apparent differences may not be statistically significant at a sufficient level to merit<br />

action.<br />
