Pauline Buchenholz<br />

In this memoir, Pauline Buchenholz describes her internment with members of her family<br />

in the Kraków ghet<strong>to</strong>; her separation from her parents during an Aktion; her incarceration<br />

in the concentration camps of Kraków-Plaszów, Skarzysko-Kamienna, and Leipzig-<br />

Schönfeld; her survival of a death march; and her liberation. Her memoir is continued in<br />

the sequel, ―The Postwar Years,‖ which includes descriptions of the Deggendorf<br />

displaced persons camp.<br />

and Tribunal Pass<br />

This collection contains a pho<strong>to</strong>copy of the interrogation statement made by Erich von<br />

dem Bach-Zelewski during proceedings of the International Military Tribunal in<br />

Nuremberg. Also included is a copy of a pho<strong>to</strong>graph of von dem Bach-Zelewski‘s<br />

appearance during the trial and a tribunal pass issued <strong>to</strong> George Sakheim as a transla<strong>to</strong>r at<br />

the trial.<br />

Provenance: During the IMT proceedings, a colleague passed the original interrogation<br />

statement on <strong>to</strong> George Sakheim. It is now in the National Archives and Records<br />

Administration, College Park, MD.
