a war crimes investiga<strong>to</strong>r and prosecu<strong>to</strong>r at the International Military Tribunal<br />

proceedings in Nuremberg (1945–1946) and the American Military Government war<br />

crimes trials (particularly the Einsatzgruppen trial that Ferencz prosecuted); his<br />

involvement with B‘nai B‘rith lodges, the International Council Executive Committee<br />

(1937–1994), and B‘nai B‘rith war damages and restitution of property claims (1959–<br />

1962); his activities relating <strong>to</strong> the Foreign Claims Settlement Commission (1961–1980);<br />
