This collection contains in<strong>for</strong>mation about Thomas Ballinger‘s involvement in arranging,<br />

with the State Jewish Museum in Prague, an exhibition of children‘s art from Terezin.<br />

These exhibitions <strong>to</strong>ok place at the University of Oregon and at various other U.S.<br />

institutions.<br />

RG-24.016 We Will Never Die, by Ben Hecht, Ca. 1943<br />

This collection contains We Will Never Die, a play relating <strong>to</strong> the persecution of<br />

European Jewry in Nazi-dominated Europe. It was written during World War II by Ben<br />

Hecht, a well-known screenwriter and Zionist who advocated the creation of a Jewish<br />

army in Europe, and was per<strong>for</strong>med various times in the United States.<br />

Provenance: The original play is located at the Billy Rose Theatre Collection in the New<br />

York Public Library. Source of acquisition is Bret Werb.<br />

His<strong>to</strong>ry, the Last Fashist [sic] Defense Line, 1991<br />

This scrapbook, compiled by Avraham Tory, contains captioned caricature sketches of<br />

the defendants be<strong>for</strong>e the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg. According <strong>to</strong><br />

Tory, a Lithuanian Jew and <strong>for</strong>mer manager of ―Hamosad‖ (Office of the Illegal Jewish<br />

Emigration <strong>to</strong> Palestine from Italy), the sketches were drawn by ―a famous Russian<br />

car<strong>to</strong>onist.‖<br />
