testimony by several of Jaksy‘s acquaintances including <strong>for</strong>mer governor of New York,<br />

Mario Cuomo. The testimonies describe Jaksy‘s activities as a Righteous Gentile in<br />

Czechoslovakia, where he was responsible <strong>for</strong> the rescue and successful escape of many<br />

Jews and political dissidents.<br />
