This collection contains the diaries of Peter Weiss. Weiss began writing the diaries in<br />

Vienna in 1938 and he continued <strong>to</strong> write while he was on his way <strong>to</strong> the United States<br />

via Brussels, England, and Canada. Also included are records of his ef<strong>for</strong>ts <strong>to</strong> emigrate.<br />

Accession 1995.A.0601 Eleanor Oppenheimer Morris Memoir, 1944<br />

This typescript memoir by Eleanor Oppenheimer Morris discusses her life in prewar<br />

Frankfurt, Germany; Kristallnacht and her father‘s and uncle‘s resultant incarceration in<br />

Buchenwald; her and her family‘s emigration <strong>to</strong> the United States; and their subsequent<br />

lives in New York and Baltimore. The <strong>for</strong>mat of the memoir is actually a response <strong>to</strong> an<br />

unknown questionnaire.<br />
