This collection relates <strong>to</strong> various aspects of the <strong>Holocaust</strong> in Hungary. It includes<br />

correspondence and documents regarding ghet<strong>to</strong>ization; minutes of meetings about<br />

deportations; the letters of Jusztinián Cardinal Serédi and Prime Minister Döme Sztógay;<br />

reports <strong>to</strong> the Ministry of Interior Affairs; and the papers of German Ambassador<br />

Dietrich von Jagow.<br />

Provenance: Randolph L. Braham, the donor, collected the material from a variety of<br />

Hungarian sources, including the Esztergom Archives of Jusztinián Cardinal Serédi,<br />

Archives of Bács-Kiskun County, and the Archives of War His<strong>to</strong>ry.<br />

RG-52.011 Records Related <strong>to</strong> Alleged Hungarian War Criminals Living Abroad, 1946–<br />

1947<br />

This collection contains correspondence, name lists, and card files of suspected war<br />

criminals who left Hungary during and after the war. Hungarian authorities prepared<br />

these materials in <strong>for</strong>mulating requests <strong>for</strong> extradition of those suspects. Included are<br />

verdicts and sentences, as well as correspondence between the prosecu<strong>to</strong>r and the<br />

minister of justice.<br />

National Archives of Hungary.<br />
