death of her husband at Ponar (a.k.a. Ponary and Paneriai); her internment in the Vilnius<br />

(a.k.a. Vilna, Wilna, Wilno) and Lida ghet<strong>to</strong>s; her survival of a Selektion; her experiences<br />

as a partisan; and the end of the war.<br />

Fritz Isaac Lindenstrauss), his wife Ruth Betty Salomon Linden, and their son, Kurt<br />

Joseph Linden, during their time living as German Jewish refugees in Shanghai, China.<br />

Several documents relate <strong>to</strong> the Linden family‘s business, ―Ladies Secondhand S<strong>to</strong>re,‖<br />

where they provided clothing goods and tailoring services <strong>to</strong> the community.<br />

Blumenthal, Albert Blumenthal‘s father, who was unable <strong>to</strong> emigrate from Germany<br />

be<strong>for</strong>e the war and who was eventually deported <strong>to</strong> Terezin (Theresienstadt)<br />

concentration camp; and the fate of other Blumenthal family members.<br />
