This collection contains copies of various documents from an exhibition produced <strong>for</strong> the<br />

50th anniversary reunion of the Association of Teheran Children and Their Instruc<strong>to</strong>rs in<br />

1993. The exhibition recounts the his<strong>to</strong>ry of the children‘s rescue from the Nazis and<br />

their relocation <strong>to</strong> Palestine via Teheran, Iran, in 1943. Also included is in<strong>for</strong>mation<br />

about the lives of the Teheran Children after their arrival and the work of Henrietta Szold.<br />

Provenance: Source of acquisition is David Laor, an agent of the Jewish Agency <strong>for</strong><br />

Palestine, who served as the Direc<strong>to</strong>r of the Jewish Children‘s Home in a camp <strong>for</strong> Polish<br />

refugees in Teheran beginning in 1942.<br />

This collection contains records from the International Committee of the Red Cross<br />

(ICRC) Commission <strong>for</strong> Prisoners, Internees, and Civilians. Topics include aid <strong>for</strong><br />

hostages and political prisoners in German prisons and concentration camps; hostages,<br />

political prisoners, and resistance fighters imprisoned during and after the war by Nazi<br />

satellite regimes or imprisoned by Germany throughout Europe; German nationals<br />

interned or detained in Allied countries during and after the war; the repatriation of<br />

deportees; and the civil war in Greece.<br />

Provenance: Source of acquisition is the ICRC Archives, series G44. Copies are also<br />

available at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem, Israel.<br />
