This collection contains index cards (Form G-153) completed by immigrants <strong>to</strong> the<br />

United States indicating dates and addresses of <strong>for</strong>eign residence between January 1940<br />

and January 1968, including any time spent in ghet<strong>to</strong>s or camps.<br />

Provenance: Form G-153 was designed <strong>to</strong> provide INS users with in<strong>for</strong>mation about<br />

previous addresses of aliens. The originals are held by the His<strong>to</strong>ry Office and Library of<br />

the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.<br />

This collection contains legal documents and correspondence pertaining <strong>to</strong> Aenne Hertz,<br />

a social worker in Germany from 1933 <strong>to</strong> 1941. After being fired from her public job in<br />

1933 by the Nazis she became a social worker <strong>for</strong> Jewish organizations and helped Jews<br />

<strong>to</strong> escape Nazi Germany.<br />
