This production follows, for at least some of the time, the sequence of the book. In it is a journey that transcends physical death, the pain of separation, the death of everything around, of beauty. In it is the distant memory of a magnificent city sinking little by little into the water. The city of Carnival. But there is also a great whiteness, a great light in these wild shadows. And at the end there are the words of a song I heard in a little bar in a town in the grey North of Europe. It talks to me of hope. „Przeżyłem pełne życie. Przebiegłem wszystkie drogi. Ale ważniejsze jest, że zrobiłem to po swojemu.” My Way Jest taka książka, którą znalazłem tajemniczym nieomal sposobem, zagubioną na zakurzonym regale, w Zatoce Bengalskiej. Przedstawienie towarzyszy, przynajmniej przez jakiś czas, treści książki. Jest tam podróż przez śmierć fizyczną, ból rozstania, śmierć wszystkiego dookoła, śmierć piękna. Jest odległe wspomnienie wspaniałego miasta, które stopniowo pogrąża się w wodzie. Miasta karnawału. Ale jest także wielka biel, wielkie światło w tych dzikich ciemnościach. I na koniec – są słowa piosenki, której słuchałem w małym barze jednego z miast europejskiej północy, wypełnionej szarością. Słowa, które mówią mi o nadziei. Które mówią mi, że za tym ciężkim, szarym niebem zawsze przecież ukrywa się słońce. (Pisane we Włoszech z okazji Nagrody Europejskiej, luty 2009) “J’ai vécu une vie bien pleine. Mais le plus important, c’est que j’ai fait ça à ma manière.” My Way Il y avait un livre que j’avais trouvé presque mystérieusement, perdu sur une étagère poussiéreuse, dans le Golfe du Bengale. Le spectacle accompagne, du moins pendant quelque temps, le déroulement du livre. Il y a un voyage qui traverse la mort physique, la douleur de la séparation, la mort des choses tout autour, de la beauté. Il y a la mémoire lointaine d’une ville magnifique qui sombre peu à peu dans l’eau. La ville du Carnaval. Mais il y a également une grande blancheur, une grande lumière, dans ces ténèbres sauvages. Et à la fin il y a les paroles d’une chanson que j’ai écoutée dans un petit bar d’une ville de ce Nord de l’Europe plein de grisaille. Qui me parlent d’un espoir. Qui me disent que derrière ce lourd ciel gris, le soleil est néanmoins toujours là, caché. (Écrit à l’occasion du Prix Europe, février 2009) „Ich habe ein volles Leben gelebt. Ich bin jeden Weg gegangen. Aber mehr als das, ich hab’s auf meine Art getan. Auf meine Art bin ich meinen Weg gegangen.” My Way Da war ein Buch, das ich auf fast geheimnisvolle Art gefunden hatte, in einem staubigen Regal im Golf von Bengalen verirrt. Das Schauspiel begleitet, wenigstens ein bisschen, den Verlauf dieses Buches. Es gibt eine Reise, die den körperlichen Tod, den Trennungsschmerz, den Tod der Dinge um uns, den Tod der Schönheit durchstößt. Es gibt die entfernte Erinnerung einer wunderschönen Stadt, die nach und nach im Wasser versinkt. Die Stadt des Karnevals. Doch es gibt auch viel weiß, viel Licht in dieser grausamen Dunkelheit. Und schließlich gibt es die Worte eines Liedes, das ich in einer kleinen Bar in einer Stadt im grauen Norden Europas gehört habe. Die mir von einer Hoffnung erzählen. Die mir sagen, dass hinter dieser Dunstglocke aus grauem Himmel in jedem Fall immer die Sonne versteckt ist. (Anlässlich des Europa-Preises geschrieben, Februar 2009) “Ho vissuto una vita piena. Ho percorso ogni strada. Ma ancora di più l’ho fatto a modo mio. A modo mio ho fatto la mia strada.” My Way C’era un libro che avevo trovato quasi misteriosamente, sperduto in uno scaffale polveroso, nel Golfo del Bengala. Lo spettacolo accompagna, almeno per un po’, lo scorrere di quel libro. C’è un viaggio che attraversa la morte fisica, il dolore della separazione, la morte delle cose intorno, della bellezza. C’è la memoria lontana di una città bellissima che affonda a poco a poco nell’acqua. La città del Carnevale. Ma c’è anche tanto bianco, tanta luce, in questo buio feroce. E ci sono alla fine le parole di una canzone che ho ascoltato in un piccolo bar di una città del grigio Nord dell’Europa. Che mi raccontano di una speranza.
