re le proprie capacità». Una comunità
tricolore molto attiva
anche nelle iniziative della Camera
di Commercio Italiana a
New York, di cui Bozzo è diventato
presidente quattro anni fa:
«Ci teniamo che rappresenti
non l’Italia ma quell’Italia di cui
andare fieri – spiega – Lavoriamo
per favorire il commercio
tra Italia e States, ma ci siamo
anche ripromessi di valorizzare i
giovani italiani, di valorizzare le
aziende con a capo le donne e
favorire l’apertura di aziende
italiane».
Dopo un 2012 di record «sia per
numero di iniziative, sia per numero
di associati e risultati ottenuti
sul campo», nel 2013 si
sta ovviamente lavorando sull’Anno
della Cultura Italiana negli
Usa: «a settembre si terrà
probabilmente anche qualcosa
legato alla Liguria: non anticipo
nulla, ma per me, che rimango
sampdorianissimo e in
ufficio ho attaccato l’intercalare
belin anche gli americani, sarà
ovviamente l’evento a cui
tengo di più».
above you, need to pull you up,
and those who are below you,
need to push you up, because
they esteem and admire you like
colleagues. You just can’t
concentrate only on one
direction. When the two things
happen at the same time, then
you have a chance to make things
go well.” Sea containers across
the world, and new markets in
expansion (from Asia to South
America). The secret of Bozzo’s
company’s rise to the heights
however, comes from far away,
and speaks in Italian. “I have
followed the road that my
predecessor had already set out
upon. Captain Arena, under the
guidance of the Aponte family,
the owners of the Company.” But
it all really started in his first
years in New York, “when, at a
very young age, I would work
even 14 hours a day,” he tells us,
“and I felt that I was the
ambassador for my country: I
wanted to show that Italians are
workers who never tire and are
very professional.” Italians in MSC
USA are quite a
few in
number.
by Captain Arena, his
Born in 1967, Bozzo who
grew up in Carignano, is
the president of the Italian
Chamber of Commerce in
New York
They are “all good people, great
workers, very dedicated, serious,
honest, and motivated to the
highest degree. There is an
‘electric’ air in the company
which is contagious for all who
arrive. Among us there is great
respect and collaboration,” he
continues. “The atmosphere is
healthy, ideal for expressing one’s
own capabilities.” An Italian
community that is also very
active in initiatives proposed by
the Italian Chamber of
Commerce in New York, of which
Bozzo became the president four
years ago. “We really make an
effort to represent not just Italy in
general, but that Italy of which we
are so proud,” Bozzo explains. “We
work to encourage commerce
between Italy and the States, but
we also wish to show the value of
young Italians, to bring out the
value of those companies run by
women, and encourage the
opening of Italian companies to
the United States.” After a record
2012 “both for the number of
initiatives, as for the number of
associates and results in the field”,
in 2013 they are working on The
Year of Italian Culture in America.
“In September we will be doing
something tied to Liguria. I’m not
going to tell you what. I remain
always a super fan of the
Sampdoria, and in the office at
times a few belin do escape me –
even with Americans – so
obviously this will be the
event that is the
most important
for me.”
