Carlo Rognoni has been the director
of magazines and newspapers like
Epoca, Panorama, and Il Secolo XIX;
Vice-President of the Italian Senate;
and on the board of the RAI, Italian
national TV. His latest book is “Da
Mamma Rai alla Tv Fai da Te: a
Guide to the Television of
Tomorrow”
“
La
tv Meno ti fai
coinvolgere più sei
popolare
TV The more you do,
the less popular you
are
”
disvalore.
on demand.
Sia su Twitter, sia su Facebook sia su Youtube, Grillo
stravince. Su tutti i social media conquista il primato
questi stessi video.
players in an event, which then made the event
become a vision.
Certainly television also played a part in Grillo’s
success. But be careful here! “Victory comes” writes
Michele Mezza on his mediasenzamediatori.org
website “when ‘distance’ on television becomes a
nightmare for those who do TV. They begin
obsessively seeking you out. Talking about you
without you.” Television as per Grillo: “The less you
see of it, the better off you are”. To sum it up, Grillo
almost sees an anti-value in television. And
traditional politicians on talk shows fight each other,
reinforcing Grillo’s strongest and more popular
message: “Send them all home!” He doesn’t outline
his programs on TV. He talks online about energy,
agriculture, transport, the environment, digital
citizenship… almost as if he wishes to distribute the
ideal catalogue to each and every voter for their own
on-demand program.
On Twitter, as on Facebook and YouTube, Grillo wins
an outstanding majority. On all the social media he
takes first place in terms of popularity, interactivity,
and pro-activeness. With 958,337 followers, Grillo is
the most followed politician on Twitter. The week
before the elections the Blogmeter platform on
Facebook Grillo left his adversaries in the dust:
1,191,559 “likes” making him the most popular of
Italian politicians. Berlusconi received 498,000, but
Bersani didn’t even make 130,000.
And then there is the “most talked about” index
which is considered to be a sort of quantitative
thermometer of conversations generated by a
Facebook page. Well, even here Grillo shows himself
to be the most pro-active. He gets 1,495,000 likes,
comments, shares, and posts by fans.
This tremendous power was replicated on YouTube
with its viral videos, which use it as a starting point
to pass their contagion onto internet and the social
network. Grillo’s official channel counts almost
153,000 members, with more than 1,100 videos
downloaded and 101,000,000 hits. Berlusconi,
perhaps because he prefers old-fashioned TV, didn’t
even bother to open a channel on YouTube!
So, is there someone still out there who thinks you
can do politics without internet
Beppe Grillo, genovese, comico e
principali forze politiche del Paese
