Petrini e le spiagge

Liguria continuo a guardare con lo
stesso approccio di Paolo Conte, quello
«Alla
di “noi che stiamo in fondo alla campagna”»,
ammette Carlin Petrini da Bra. Chissà che
emozione allora – persino per lui, il guru fondatore
di Slow Food, per il Guardian «uno dei cinquanta
umani che potrebbero salvare il mondo» - riconquistare
il mare di Genova, quel Porto Antico dove
dal 9 al 12 maggio valori e sapori della sua associazione
coloreranno la sesta edizione di Slow Fish,
una delle tante manifestazioni di successo all’insegna
del “buono, pulito e giusto”.
Ritorna in una terra di mare, cantautori, belle
canzoni e presidi Slow Food.
E bei ricordi. La Liguria di noi piemontesi è quella di
Ponente, la mia Liguria più amata è quella delle
nuotate ad Albissola, in mezzo ai bagnanti in mutandoni
di lana.
La Liguria del Carlin bambino, che sognava di
fare il ferroviere come il nonno.
I miei primi soggiorni liguri duravano un giorno. Si
partiva alle 5 di mattina da casa, i miei, mia sorella
ed io, per arrivare alle 10, stare tutto il giorno in
spiaggia e ripartire per arrivare a Bra per le undici
di sera. Un viaggio infinito: l’unica sosta prevista a
Montezemolo, a cambiare l’acqua al motore della
Topolino fumante.
Poi sono arrivate le vacanze del Carlin ragazzo.
Con il passaggio obbligato dall’epopea delle estati
in colonia, alla Colonia marina Braidese di Laigueglia.
Ma in gioventù sono stato anche fra i fondatori
del Premio Tenco con Guccini, Vecchioni e tutti
gli altri.
E oggi
Oggi riportiamo Slow Fish sul mare, a ingresso gratuito.
E festeggiamo l’iniziativa della Regione, che
per legge metterà le terre incolte a disposizione di
chi le vorrà coltivare. Il futuro di questo Pianeta è
ancora solo uno: la terra.

“We are down in the country”, explains
Carlin Petrini of Bra. And yet he, the founder and
“guru” of the Slow Food movement - named by the
English newspaper, The Guardian, “one of the fifty
men who could save the world” - has just
conquered the sea at Genoa, in the heart of the old
city, right here in Porto Antico, where from May 9
to 12, the values and tastes of his association, will
colorfully deck out the sixth Slow Fish food fair.
So you return to the land of sea, singersongwriters,
songs, and Slow Food events.
And lovely memories. Liguria for us in the Piedmont,
is the western Riviera. My beloved Liguria is where I
would go for a swim in Albissola, among all those
bathers in woolen underwear.
The Liguria of Carlin as a child, when you were
still dreaming of working on the railroad like
your grandfather.
My first stays in Liguria were day trips. We would
leave home at 5 in the morning, my parents, my
sister, and I, to arrive at 10, stay the whole day on
the beach, and then return to Bra at 11 at night. A
voyage that never ended. The only planned stop was
in Montezemolo, to change the water in the engine
of our smoking Fiat Topolino.
Then came the vacations of Carlin as a youth.
With the obligatory passage of the epic summer in
summer camp, at the Colonia Marina Braidese in
Laigueglia. But in my youth I was also one of the
founders of the Tenco Prize.
And today
Today we are bringing Slow Fish to the sea, with
entry free to all. And we will celebrate the Region’s
initiative to place uncultivated land in the hands of
he who will cultivate them. A demonstration of
how the future of this planet is still just one thing:
the land.
