lue cover La città dei teatri The City of Theatres C’è la sperimentazione dell’Archivolto e l’internazionalità della Tosse, c’è la ricerca del Tkc e le grandi platee del Politeama, sino ai grandi classici rivisitati dalla Compagnia Cargo. È ricca e sfaccettata l’offerta teatrale di Genova, non a caso la città italiana col maggior numero di sale per numero di abitanti. Se il Teatro della Tosse incarna, anche geograficamente, la città vecchia e i suoi giovani vicoli, quasi trent’anni fa – a Sampierdarena, nell’estrema periferia - una giovane compagnia di aspiranti attori (tra cui Maurizio Crozza) contribuì a fondare quello che sarebbe diventato il Teatro dell’Archivolto. Vocazione decisamente più popolare per il Politeama Genovese, che in questi anni ha portato sul palco tutti i più grandi protagonisti della scena televisiva e cinematografica italiana, con qualche apprezzata incursione nel teatro civile. Dietro ai mostri sacri, tuttavia, il fermento non manca, come dimostra la crescita costante del Teatro Cargo e del Tkc Teatro della Gioventù (con centinaia di repliche in programma). E’ il caso di Andrea Liberovici che con il Teatro del Suono si è esibito più volte a New York e ha rapporti di collaborazione molto stretta con Peter Greenaway e Bob Wilson. I risultati si sono visti al Duse che ha ospitato una sua Operetta al nero, ispirata a Christopher Marlowe, corredata da musiche mefistofeliche e illuminata da Sandro Sussi, da molti anni allo Stabile di Genova dopo un’esperienza nella factory del registaarchitetto texano. cover blue L’arte di legare Genova agli States Art Ties Genoa to the States Celant ha portato a NewYork il seme della sua Arte Povera, la galleria Unimedia ha dato risonanza al movimento americano Fluxus e di recente ha ospitato le performance di Ben Patterson e Philip Corner Celant brought to New York the seeds of his Poor Art, Arte Povera. Ci si trova a New York con Enrico Baj nella Galleria di Leo Castelli dove si sta inaugurando una personale di Roy Lichtenstein: nel mezzo della festa irrompe Bob Rauschenberg con un mazzo di fiori che porge al festeggiato. In tali frangenti è facile parlare e fraternizzare. Lo facciamo anche noi. Questi contatti potrebbero aiutarci a condurre a buon fine un progetto concepito per Genova. Le Colombiane sono vicine e Renzo Piano sta per regalare alla città il Porto Antico e Houston il museo che accoglie la De Menil Collection, le cui sale sono inondate dalla luce naturale ottenuta attraverso un complesso gioco di rifrazioni. I Magazzini del Cotone, ancora da ristrutturare, costituirebbero l’eccezionale palestra di un evento artistico memorabile. Dopo un accurato sopralluogo Baj ha pensato di invitare alcuni giovani pittori e performer italiani che, sotto la sua regia, avrebbero dovuto concepire i loro lavori sfruttando gli interni dei Magazzini. Altrettanto avrebbe fatto Rauschenberg a New York con un manipolo di autori statunitensi. Nel corso di quel fatidico 1992 i due gruppi si sarebbero quindi scambiati gli ambienti magari col concorso di due antologiche dei maestri di riferimento. After having carefully surveyed the spaces, Baj decided to invite some young Italian painters and performers who, under his direction, would conceive their works taking advantage of the interiors of the warehouses.
