eleggere un Presidente nero, in Italia è
praticamente impossibile che i più poveri
accedano davvero al potere.
Brecht diceva: dal momento che tutti gli
altri posti erano occupati, ci sedemmo dalla
parte del torto.
Ecco, noi ragazzi di borgata che scrivevamo
canzoni come oggi le scrivono i ragazzi della
piazza hip hop, non potevamo che sederci
dalla parte del torto e prendercela
acriticamente con un grandissimo Paese
talmente libero da produrre da sé gli
anticorpi al proprio Male.
Noi non siamo liberi come gli
americani, ci fa male provare a
essere liberi come loro, la libertà
degli States non ci porta a cambiare
ma a rappresentare il cambiamento.
Solo un popolo giovane come quello
americano può permettersi di
essere ingenuo e superficiale, noi
che abbiamo più storia abbiamo il
dovere della profondità.
Sennò mentre loro inventano la
rete, noi inventeremo (ben che
vada) la religione della rete.
Naturalmente il mio ragionamento
riguarda tutti tranne i genovesi: noi
abbiamo inventato i blue
jeans mentre loro hanno inventato
solo la religione dei blue jeans.

organizzerà l'ottavo Festival Pop della
Resistenza.

poor to reach the heights of power.
Brecht would say that since all the other places
were taken, we Italians sat down on the side of
the wrong.
And here we were, the boys of the outskirts writing
songs like those written today by boys of the
Hip Hop – we couldn’t help but sit down on the
side of the wrong and take it out uncritically on
the Greatest Country on Earth, that was so free
that it produced on its own antibodies against its
own pain.
We are not free like Americans. It
hurts us to be free like them. The
freedom of the States does not
make us really change, but to depict
change. Only a young people like the Americans
can allow themselves to be naïve and superficial.
We, with our long history, have the duty of
depth. Otherwise while they are inventing the
social media, we will invent (at best) the religion
of the social media.
Naturally my reasoning reflects on all except the
Genoese – we invented blue jeans, while they
only invented the religion of blue jeans.
