Home Signals is less than 400 yards, but where clauses (a) and
(c) of Regulation 4 of the Block Telegraph Regulations are
relaxed in this respect, viz., the Signalman at the box in the
rear may accept a train at "Line Clear" if he has a vertical
needle to the box in advance for the line on which the train
will run and that line is clear, so far as it is under his control.
