EMPrf TRAINS DRAWN FROM STATION PLATFORM LINES.
General Rule 89.
In all cases where a train arriving at a terminal station is drawn out by
another engine the train engine must not follow the empty train until after
the signal which has been lowered for the empty train has been put to
danger and is again lowered for the light engine.
When an engine has been attaching or detaching vehicles from the rear
of a train, and it is necessary for such engine to pass out of the section at
the opposite end to that at which it entered, it must not follow the train
until after the signal, which has been lowered for the train, has been put
to danger, and is again lowered for the pilot engine, except in cases where
it is necessary for an engine to assist a train in starting.

General Rules 90 and 130.
Station Masters must arrange, when necessary for the signal boxes usually
-opening late or closing early to be open as the special trains may require,
-and the block instruments and signals attended to, so as to avoid delays
to the trains. When special trains are run on Sundays over lines partially
-or wholly closed on that day, Station Masters must arrange for the attendance
of signalmen as required..
It may be necessary to run some trains in duplicate, and a careful
look out must therefore be kept for the extra tail lamp. When trains are
run in duplicate, the _first portion may run five or ten minutes be
advertised - time, if other arrangements will permit.

of Fairs, Hirings, Races, Agricultural Shows, Flower Shows, Large Sales,
Band Contests, _ Galas, etc., as soon as the dates are fixed, in order that
proper arrangements may be made for the extra traffic.
sHony WESTINGHOUSE BRAKE PIPES.
General Rule 90 (a).
1.—When a short Westinghouse brake pipe is used, -the Station Master at
the station to which the pipe belongs must at the time wire the destination
.station (YE. or Foreign) to the effect that a short Westinghouse pipe has
been used and the telegram must be repeated until a reply has been obtained
stating by Wald train it as ban veturned. In the event of the vehicle on which
the pipe is used requiring to be transferred at a Junction station, the owning
•station must advise the junction about the pipe on a separate message from
that sent in regard to the trL.
