WORKING OF ELECTRIC STOCK BETWEEN WALKER GATE
AND YORK CARRIAGE SHOPS.
General Rule 115.
When electric vehicles have to run between Walker Gate and York Carriage
Shops, or vice versa, they must, if fitted with motors, travel via the Learnside
route.
Electric vehicles not fitted with motors may travel by either the Leamside
or Team Valley routes. ( B . 2105). (O. 6257).
G.O. BOGIE STOCK WORKING TO N.E. SYSTEM.
General Rule 116.
Stock not exceeding 52 feet over headstocks may work without restriction.
Stock exceeding 52 feet and not exceeding 60 feet over headstocks may
work generally, with the exception of the following lines :—
Newcastle and Carlisle.
Gateshead and Dunston.
Murton and Durham (Elvet).
Darlington, Bishop Auckland and Blackhill.
Norton-on-Tees and West Hartlepool.
Ferryhill and Hartlepool.
All lines north of Newcastle (except Main Line
Newcastle and Tweedmouth).
These instructions apply to G.C. Stock not exceeding 9 feet in width over
all projections. ( B . 55.)
MIDLAND BOGIE STOCK WORKING TO NORTH EASTERN SYSTEM.
General Rules 115 and 90.
Midland bogie stock 48-ft. or 50-ft. in length over headstocks and with
fixed side lamps on the brakes may be run over the North Eastern
System generally.
Midland 54 feet bogie stock may also be accepted generally with the
exception of the line between Darlington and Bishop Auckland, and Newcastle
and Carlisle, which sections are prohibited for stock over 52 feet in
length.
Midland dining cars 59-ft., 60-ft., or 65-ft. in length over headstocks can
be accepted generally, with the exception of the following lines :—
All lines North of Newcastle (except on the Main Line,
Newcastle to Tweedmouth).
Newcastle and Carlisle.
Gateshead and Dunston.
Murton and Durham (Elvet).
Darlington, Bishop Auckland, and Blackhill.
Norton-on-Tees and West Hartlepool.
