HEXHAM AND ALLENDALE BRANCH.
The siding points at Glendue Siding, Elrington, Langley, Staward and
Allendale Stations are worked from a ground frame. The levers can only
be worked by inserting the staff in the receptacle provided in accordance
with the instructions exhibited at each ground frame.
If an engine should become derailed or disabled while the staff is in the
frame, the ,point levers must be restored to their normal pgsition (being disconnected
if necessary) in order to relieve the staff and admit of Regulation
8 of the Regulations for working single lines of railway by only one engine
in steam being carried out.
WATERHOUSES.—FLASS JUNCTION.
Up Passenger trains proceeding from Mass Junction to Waterhouses
Station, and also engines and vans proceeding from Mass Junction to
Waterhouses Colliery to pick up a load may, when necessary, return to Mass
Junction without passing through the section to exchange the Tablet at
Waterhouses Goods Crossing Box. ( O . 234 4. )
• CORONATION SIDING BETWEEN WEARHEAD AND WESTGATE.
Freight trains proceeding from Wearhead to Coronation Siding between
Wearhead and Westgate may, when necessary, return to Wearhead without
passing through the section to exchange the tablet at Westgate. When a
Freight train has to return to Wearhead, arrangements must first be made
with the Signalman there, and no shunting outside the Home Signal must
be allowed until the Freight train has passed out of the section. (O. 7639.)
CAMBOKIELS SIDING AND GREENFOOT QUARRY SIDING
BETWEEN STANHOPE JUNCTION AND WESTGATE.
Freight trains proceeding from Stanhope Junction to Greenfoot Quarry
or Cambokiels Siding between Stanhope and Westgate may, when necessary,
return to Stanhope Junction without passing through the section to exchange
the tablet at Westgate. When a Freight train has to return to Stanhope
Junction, arrangements must first be made with the Signalman there, and
no shunting outside the Home Signal must be allowed until the Freight
train has passed out of the section. ( O . 7639.)
MARSHALL GREEN SIDING AND WITTON-LE-WEAR STATION
SIDING BETWEEN WITTON WEST AND HARPERLEY•
Freight trains proceeding from Witton West to Marshall Green Siding
oliWitton-le-Wear Station between Witton West and Harperley, may, when
necessary, return to Witton West without passing through the section to
exchange the tablet at Harperley. When a Freight train has to return to
Witton West, arrangements must first be made with the Signalman there,
and no shunting outside the Home Signal must be allowed until the Freight
