4.3.00 This chapter looks at <strong>the</strong> hermeneutic analysis <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>aliran</strong> starting with pin<br />

pointing what I consider to be <strong>the</strong> emergence <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>discipline</strong>. In this chapter I look at <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>aliran</strong> from a range <strong>of</strong> domains and in order to have some variety have selected several<br />

sub-<strong>aliran</strong> which, in my opinion, best illustrate some <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> issues that have been discussed<br />

in <strong>the</strong> previous parts and chapters to this dissertation. Starting from <strong>the</strong> top <strong>of</strong> my<br />

heffalump model I first look at social <strong>entrepreneurship</strong> and how significant <strong>the</strong> <strong>aliran</strong><br />

perceives this to be within <strong>the</strong> <strong>discipline</strong>. As behaviouralist methodologies have app arently<br />

been dominant in <strong>the</strong> early years <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>discipline</strong> I briefly look at <strong>the</strong> methodological<br />

sources that receive high or significant gravitas in <strong>the</strong> <strong>aliran</strong>. Following on from this, is a<br />

discussion on <strong>the</strong> construction <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> ontologies where I draw compa risons between <strong>the</strong><br />

sub-<strong>aliran</strong> <strong>of</strong> innovation which I perceive as being a more natural construction and that <strong>of</strong><br />

corporate <strong>entrepreneurship</strong> which construction seems to have been subject to influence by<br />

some high gravitas figures in <strong>the</strong> <strong>discipline</strong>.<br />

4.3.01 The venture capital sub-<strong>aliran</strong> is viewed as one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> few sub-<strong>aliran</strong> where savoir<br />

and connaissance knowledge are perceived to merge. The issues <strong>of</strong> size and shape <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>entrepreneurship</strong> are <strong>the</strong>n discussed with relevance to <strong>the</strong> sub-<strong>aliran</strong> <strong>of</strong> organizations,<br />

organizational learning, small businesses and <strong>the</strong> self-employed individual. Here I start to<br />
