formation being ‘mapping <strong>the</strong> first surface <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir emergence.’ This first part attempts to<br />

pinpoint <strong>the</strong> emergence <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>discipline</strong> as a singular entity as opposed to being part <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> developing epistemology – which seems to be something that Foucault missed.<br />
