immigrant sub-<strong>aliran</strong> that are discussed in section 4.3.10 below. I suggest that <strong>the</strong>se sub-<br />
<strong>aliran</strong> could be considered more ‘extroverted’ while some <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r sub-<strong>aliran</strong>, such as<br />
those relating to <strong>the</strong> corporate or to <strong>the</strong> organization, tend to be more ‘introverted’. As<br />
discussed in section 4.3.8.3.06, this level <strong>of</strong> introversion or extroversion could relate to <strong>the</strong><br />
relative ease <strong>of</strong> studying <strong>the</strong> small business and also by means <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir traditional status<br />
<strong>the</strong>se sub-<strong>aliran</strong> have a more natural fit into <strong>the</strong> <strong>discipline</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>entrepreneurship</strong>. Those<br />
introverted sub-<strong>aliran</strong> may have some crisis <strong>of</strong> identity with o<strong>the</strong>r <strong>discipline</strong>s such as <strong>the</strong><br />
management and organizational studies <strong>discipline</strong> ; this can relate to <strong>the</strong> more overtly<br />
constructed nature <strong>of</strong> some <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> corporate sub-<strong>aliran</strong>. Or it can relate to new domains or<br />
sub-<strong>aliran</strong> that are developing within <strong>the</strong> <strong>discipline</strong> such as strategic <strong>entrepreneurship</strong>,<br />
discussed as a new frontier, in section 4.3.11.<br />
4.3.8.4.03 Before looking at <strong>the</strong> strategic <strong>entrepreneurship</strong> sub-<strong>aliran</strong> I first look at <strong>the</strong><br />
sub-<strong>aliran</strong> <strong>of</strong> gender and ethnic / immigrant since <strong>the</strong>se, <strong>the</strong> latter in particular, share a<br />
number <strong>of</strong> interstices with <strong>the</strong> small business and self-employed s ub-<strong>aliran</strong>.<br />
4.3.9 Gender – a minor sub-<strong>aliran</strong><br />
4.3.9.00 The gender sub-<strong>aliran</strong> in <strong>the</strong> <strong>discipline</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>entrepreneurship</strong> is small, as shown in<br />
Graphic 4u. Seemingly, <strong>the</strong> <strong>discipline</strong> considers <strong>entrepreneurship</strong> to be fairly gender<br />
neutral. Given its size and seeming low level <strong>of</strong> significance, this sub-<strong>aliran</strong> is not fur<strong>the</strong>r<br />
discussed here.<br />
